Here is the most important service and other social functions

We have what is needed on site, although sometimes it may require travel to other municipalities to obtain specialized care or dental care.

Medical care and health

In our region there are several health centres, sick cottages and both private and public health care providers. Most health care services are provided at local health centres and sick cottages, where medical staff work together to offer care and treatment. Health centers offer primary care, which includes medical examinations, care and treatment of common conditions and diseases.

For more specialized care, patients may be referred to hospitals. The hospitals offer both emergency care and planned care. To get some time with a specialist in the hospital, a referral from your primary care physician is usually required. The nearest hospital for several of our municipalities is Lycksele Hospital, an emergency hospital with an important geographic location central to Västerbotten County. The hospital conducts emergency medical care and childbirth activities. Other hospitals are available in Piteå, Skellefteå and Umeå.

Dental care

Dental care is available to everyone. In some of our municipalities, children are prioritized and adults may need to go to the municipality next to access dental care.
