The move process: and you will start
How do I move to your region?
If you move to Sweden for a long time, step 1 (almost always) is to obtain a right of residence/residence permit. It is the Swedish Migration Agency that handles issues related to migration, visas, permits and citizenship.
You who are NORDIC MEDBORGARE
Denmark, Finland, Norway and Iceland are part of the Nordic region together with Sweden. The Nordic countries have an agreement that the Nordic citizens have the right to live in any Nordic country. You do not need to apply for a residence permit. To register you in Sweden and get a Swedish personal identity number, you need to contact the Swedish Tax Agency.
You are the EU/EEA mediator
As an EU/EEA citizen, you have the right to work, study or live in Sweden for three months. You also have the right to start and run your own business. The right of EU/EEA citizens to stay in Sweden is called a right of residence. You have a right of residence if, for example, you are a worker, self-employed person, studying or having sufficient funds for your supply. If you have a right of residence in Sweden, you do not need to contact the Swedish Migration Agency. Permanent right of residence (PUR) may be granted to citizens of the EU/EEA country if they have lived legally in Sweden for five years without interruption. This may also apply to family members of EU/EEA citizens living in Sweden.
You who are co-authors in another
A person who wants to settle in Sweden who is a citizen of a country outside the EU must apply for a residence permit. This is done at the Swedish Migration Agency. Getting a residence permit in Sweden means you have the right to live and live here. The residence permit may be either permanent or time-limited. A permanent residence permit applies as long as the person lives in Sweden and can only be revoked in special cases, for example if the person has committed a serious crime or has settled in another country. A temporary residence permit is valid for a fixed period of time, but can often be extended if the requirements for staying in Sweden are met. Anyone who wants to move to Sweden to work must have received a job offer from an employer in Sweden. The employment shall also pay as it is possible for the person to make a living. Anyone who wants to move to Sweden to start or run their own business and plans to work longer than three months must also have a residence permit. The person must be able to show that he or she can support himself and his family in the first two years.
