Short facts about
Move up North
Move Up North started as a project to develop influential services and collaboration between 10 municipalities in Sweden.
Project owner: Sorsele municipality
Participating municipalities: Arjeplog, Arvidsjaur, Dorotea, Lycksele, Malå, Norsjö, Sorsele, Storumans, Vilhelmina and Åsele.
The project will take place in 2024-2026.
EU ESF+, Region Västerbotten, Region Norrbotten and participating municipalities.
The project is intended to increase the region’s capacity to receive migrants with competence, to make available information about Region 10 as a place to live and live on and to increase the region’s attractiveness, which benefits both those who already live and operate in our municipalities and those who move in from outside.
The project will enable a functioning influential service in each municipality, for example, able to provide information about the way the labour market looks, tell us about how it is to live and live in the municipality, introduce the people moved to the municipality and move on to different relevant contacts. The project will also work nationally and internationally with increased information about the municipalities, including through a common website www.moveupnorth.se and by attending fairs, including Emigratiebeurs, the Netherlands.
