Joacim Ekbäck Eriksson, professional teacher at Tannbergsskolan:

Losing young people against adulthood is the best.

When Joacim Ekbäck Eriksson moved from Dorotea to Lycksele, he did not know that his journey would be the beginning of a professional life in entrepreneurship. Now, as a professional teacher at the Tannberg School of Economics program, he inspires young people to dare to invest and create their own future.

"The best thing about my job is to meet young people, follow their journey from the first grade towards developing into adults who are ready to get to work.

Joacim Ekbäck Eriksson, a professional teacher at the Tannberg School’s Finance Program, enjoys a very good job with a profession where he gets to work with entrepreneurship and UF-entrepreneurship (Unga Företag) – an intigrated part of the third year in high school when students get help to start, run and wind up a business. Today, Joacim handles most of the UF students at school.

"It’s a fun job and I feel very close to what I’ve worked with before.

Career and professional opportunities

For authorised teachers, job opportunities are good at Tannberg School. If you want to climb your career, there are opportunities to get more evolving services, such as the title of first teacher, where there is more responsibility for school development. Each autumn is advertised by trained teachers on the various programs, but eligibility may not always be the most important thing for a teacher.

Many times, personality is crucial. If you get a good relationship with the students, they want to learn things.

Self-employment laid the foundation

Joacim moved to Lycksele in the mid-nineties from the town of Dorotea. After a few shorter jobs including as an advertiser and broker assistant, he and his girlfriend took over the past. The color house they then ran for eighteen years. With almost non-existent experience from entrepreneurship, the years meant a solid foundation course in entrepreneurship.

"We had the security of taking over an existing company with employees who had a good track, but it was a lot of work, driving your own is a big challenge. Asking for help can be received for an entrepreneur, but we were honest with the fact that we didn’t have much experience and got good support from the networks at the resort.

Combined jobs and studies

In connection with the sale of the company, Joacim received an offer of a teaching service at the Handelsprogram where he remained for two years before the program was closed. He then jumped to the current position on the economics program. The school offered the opportunity to read teacher permissions at work time, with reduced time in its teaching service and time for distance studies, which worked well for Joacim. When he received the internship, five-semester teacher studies took place at half-fart, a total of 90 credits. Today there is a campus part at Tannberg School where all university students are welcome.

Engaged in the Scouts

In his spare time, Joacim is engaged in association life, including the Scouts. He likes to spend time with the family and be out in nature. At least once a year he stays in the forest, summer and winter. With nature around the house knot in the villa at Furuvik, it is easy to get out.

"As a Scout Leader, I get to meet low- and middle-stage children who learn important things about life and nature.

Many benefits of happiness

The benefits of living and working in Lycksele are many, says Joacim.
"Besides the large town close to everything, you get a deeper relationship when you meet the same people outside of work, like when you go shopping or are out with the scooter, which is a security.

"We are very welcoming in Lycksele, it can be good to know if you are thinking about moving here. I find it very easy to get help with different things. Many people want to help and support, Joacim concludes.
